Privacy notice

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This notice explains how the Honey & Cream Whetstone website handles information about you. We’ve kept the site simple: we don’t use cookies, we don’t ask you to sign up, and we don’t sell or share your data.

Who we are

[Registered company name], trading as Honey & Cream Whetstone, 1367 High Road, London N20 9LN. Registered in England & Wales, company no. [00000000]. You can contact us at info@honeycream.co.uk.

Menu votes

When you tap ☆ next to a dish, we add one to that dish’s total so everyone can see the five dishes and drinks our guests love most. We only store the totals for each dish — not who voted.

Your browser remembers which dishes you voted for (using “local storage”), so you can vote once per dish and tap again to take your vote back. This stays on your device; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

To stop vote spamming, we count how many votes come from each internet connection per hour. We never store your IP address: we keep only a scrambled code (a salted hash) that changes every hour and is deleted within 24 hours.

Fonts, images and maps

All fonts and images are served from this website, so loading the page doesn’t send your details to third parties. Links to Google Maps, Instagram and Tripadvisor open those websites, where their own privacy policies apply (for example, Google’s privacy policy).

Instagram photos

The photo strip on our home page shows recent posts from our own Instagram account. The photos are delivered through this website, so viewing them doesn’t send your details to Instagram. If you tap a photo, Instagram opens and Instagram’s privacy policy applies.

Google reviews

The reviews on our home page come live from Google Maps through Google’s official service. We don’t store them, and we don’t show reviewers’ names. Google requires each review to be credited, so the reviewer’s small profile picture is shown, delivered through this website so your browser doesn’t contact Google. Tapping a review opens it on Google Maps, where Google’s privacy policy applies. You can report a review to Google using the “Report” link.

Website hosting

Like any website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may briefly keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running. We don’t use these logs to identify you.

Visitor statistics

If we measure visits, we use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service that doesn’t collect personal data or track you across other websites.

Contacting us

If you phone, email or message us on social media, we use your details only to reply to you and keep them no longer than needed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email info@honeycream.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
